This fun one-week day camp in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area offers a range of programs for kids from 5 to 18 years old. Visitors can interact with animals up close and see entertaining, educational shows with dolphins and other sea creatures. Several themes are available, and the camp runs from June 12 to Aug. 18 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A Counselor in Training program is also available for youth ages 14 and older.
Camp Live Oak has locations in Fort Lauderdale, Dania Beach, and North Miami. The outdoor camps teach kids about science, canoeing, archery, fishing, crafts, surfing, paddleboarding, scuba diving, speaking Spanish, and more. Kids from 3 to 16 years old are welcome, and all the counselors are certified teachers. The Fort Lauderdale camp is at Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, which features a mile-long freshwater lagoon for canoeing and fishing. The park also has air-conditioned cabins for overnight events.
Fort Lauderdale offers Community Camps in eight convenient locations. Kids from 5 to 11 years old can enjoy arts, crafts, swimming, sports, and a variety of field trips. Two sessions are available, from June 19 to July 14, and from July 17 to Aug. 11. The hours for both sessions are from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and most locations offer lunch for kids.
